Shorba – Tripolitanian Penicillin

When someone has a cold, we make this soup. The pasta cooks in the soup and the liquid thickens, and together with the spiciness, this is the medicine

Ingredients for Shorba Soup

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 red peppers cut into cubes
  • 1 hot pepper cut into strips
  • 10 garlic cloves cut in half
  • 3 tomatoes soft, cut into cubes
  • 3 heaping tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon hot paprika
  • 1½ teaspoons Salt (perhaps more)
  • 4¼ cups (1 liter) water boiling
  • 1 package Short dry noodles Preference for short pasta (curly, shells, etc.)

Instructions

  • 1. Heat oil in a deep pot and add peppers and hot pepper, mix and cook until the peppers are slightly soft.

  • 2. Add the tomatoes and garlic and start cooking until they soften.

  • 3. Add the tomato paste and paprika and mix well, continue to cook on medium heat for about five minutes.

  • 4. Add the boiling water and salt and cook and mix well.

  • 5. Bring to a boil again, and add the pasta to the pot.

  • 6. Stir occasionally, it is important to have a lot of water so that you get a soup and not pasta.

  • 7. When the pasta is ready, taste and adjust seasoning.

  • 8. Eat immediately when the soup boils with heat and spiciness. You can add lemon when eating. To your health!
